Water Heater Replacement
At Estate Plumbing, our plumbers know all about conventional gas or electric water heaters as well as newer tankless (on- demand) water heaters. Don’t stress over water heater repairs. Estate Plumbing will take plumbing problems off your back. You may purchase a water heater through us or pick one up from the supplier of your choice and hire us to replace it. Life Expectancy of a conventional water heater should be about 11 years; tankless heaters have a life expectancy of 15-20 years. Hard water will shorten the life; regular maintenance will prolong it.
Tankless heaters are considered more energy efficient than conventional heaters because they don’t have to continually heat a tank of water. Tankless heaters heat water instantly whenever a hot water tap is opened. But not all conventional heaters are created equally. The most heavily insulated models like the Marathon® brand rival tankless heaters for efficiency and require no special modifications to your power supply, gas lines or ventilation.
On April 16, 2015, there will be significant changes to water heater energy factor (EF) requirements as the result of updates to the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act (NAECA). These new requirements call for higher energy factor (EF) ratings on virtually all residential gas, electric, and oil water heaters, completely altering the water heater landscape. NAECA also affects some light-duty commercial water heaters.
The NAECA rulings are important to customers because they reduce energy usage and save money all year long. According to the U.S. Department of Energy website, standards mandatory in 2015 will save approximately 3.3 quads of energy and result in approximately $63 billion in energy bill savings for products shipped from 2015-2044.
